Final Site Changes: What Works & Doesn’t

This post isn’t really gonna have a dumb intro or anything, but it’s basically something to let everyone know what’s to be fixed, what works, what doesn’t, and what I’m planning to add. Just remember what you see now isn’t final; not by any length.

  • = Working
  • Posts are viewable & commentable
  • All pages are working and readable
  • = Not Working
  • The Login Box doesn’t work completely. Still figuring it out
  • Update speech bubble in sidebar…links are weird
  • The heading that marks the date of a post, along with the categories it was posted in and author. Since many posts end up having a lot of categories they encompass, this gets “broken” really easily. I’m still trying to fix that.
  • = Plan To Add
  • Widgets at the bottom. Not quite sure which yet. Also a link to move back to the top of the page to avoid crazy scrolling
  • A “previous” and “next” post link at the end of every post to also avoid needless clicking/scrolling
  • Maaayyybbee a couple more sidebar widgets. Still thinking about which ones, since most widgets are kind of unnecessary
  • = Plan To Change/fix/improve
  • Change so all pictures in posts are centered, and maybe have a nice border to them so they don’t look so plain
  • I hate the comment styling. I want to change them to the style I have previously.
  • Thinking about adding an emoticon system to the comments form
  • I HATE the feature box now. I didn’t at first, but do now because it’s just too wide. There’s no way a normal anime pic could fit there without being distorted…or not fitting right. I plan to completely change it to a different featured box altogther…might take a while, but I’m trying to figure out how to make it just like the one we had before.
  • Page seems to vanilla. I want to lower the whole blog wrapper and put up a fun banner exactly like the previous version of the site & change the background to a blue or purple color. Who knows
  • Site navigation for categories is pretty limited right now. Was much better last time, but now it would take about 48 hours (literally) just to set up a structure such as I had last time.
  • Want to change link colors from blue to a brown-red.
