Anime Review:Silent Mobius

Hello and greetings fellow otaku,

Well after a crazy couple of weeks with final exams and with the craziness of the holidays behind me, it is now time to get back to some hardcore blogging. And to kick things off, I am going to do a review on the anime series known as Silent Mobius. And rest assured everyone that this review will be completely spoiler free.

Silent Mobius is a series that focuses on the supernatural in which a race of creatures know as Lucifer Hawks terrorize the citizens of Tokyo in order to destroy the world. However a group of police women known as the Attack Mystification Police or AMP for short sets out to protect Tokyo from destruction from the Lucifer Hawks with their multiple talents and personalities. The main protagonist of this series is Katsumi Liqueur, a daughter of a famous sorcerer and sorceress who regrets her heritage and does not trust the AMP. However once she learned about the AMPs purpose, she joins the AMPs fight against the Lucifer Hawks.

However Katsumi cannot defeat the Lucifer Hawks on her own. She also relies on the help of her teammates in which they bring their talents and personalities together to defeat the Lucifer Hawks. Katsumi’s teammates include Kiddy Phenil, a former police officer for the Mega-Tokyo police department in which she joined the AMP after almost being killed in the line of duty by a robotic creature known as a Megadyne. She was later rebuilt to handle combat duty for the AMP. Nami Yamigumo, an heir to a family of Shinto priests and exorcists in which she is able to detect Lucifer Hawks near by and uses holy water and paper charms to defeat the Lucifer Hawks, she is also know as somewhat of a neat freak in which she sometimes cleans up after her teammates. Yuki Saiko, a talented psychic who uses her power of clairvoyance and precognition to reflect various attacks from her enemies. Lebia Maverick, a visionaire who is able to use her body to interface with computers and is able to store information about 3000 times than a ordinary visionaire. Lum Cheng, a young women who uses the elemental magics of fire and water and Rally Cheyenne the commander of the AMP who runs the department like a business in which she cares for her officers well-being.

But while Katsumi and company are out protecting the city of Tokyo from the Lucifer Hawks, their are two villans who want nothing more than to destroy the AMP in order to take over the world. These villans are Ganossa Maximillian, a former apprentice under Katsumi’s father who has powers that are stronger or are equal to Katsumi’s. And Rosa Cheyenne, Rally Cheyenne’s little sister who is desperate to escape her sister’s shadow.

Synopsis and Final Thoughts

Silent Mobius the anime series consists of 26 episodes and it is currently available on DVD from Bandai Entertainment. The series also consists of two motion pictures in which I plan to do reviews on them in a future post. As for my final thoughts, overall on a scale of one to five. I give Silent Mobius a 5 out of 5, the series was well put together with an engaging storyline and strong character development. The series is very easy to get into and the animation is of excellent quality. Overall, I recommend Silent Mobius if you are into the supernatural or are just looking for anime series that is pleasing to the eye, this is a series definitely worth checking out.
