Great! AnimeBlips generates some traffic. I’m not sure about Technorati or Blogged though… I don’t get many from those. Still all are good places to be on. ^ ^

The reason Animenano doesn’t allow blogs unless they’re a month old is to stop the sheer number of people who would start an anime blog then a few weeks later go ‘how the hell can people do this shit’ and never update again. It’s a right of passage all anime bloggers should go through. If you can get through that month or so of no hits or comments and still produce content then you’ve proven yourself worthy. Heck, if anything I’d say a month isn’t enough.

Just thought I’d throw that out there

I COMPLETELY agree. You either pay with money & content or content. I had to use personal funds to start this up. And I feel I’ve started to see a little bit of the payoff (a little, so please keep commenting lol). I definitely agree about the whole month thing – it should be extended. Like a minimum of 3k hits or something like that. Anime blogs are a dime a dozen unfortunately. I think I can tell the quality ones (such as yours), but I guess some people like fooling themselves…mmm it’s all bleah I guess.

Nah I don’t think it should be determined by hits. You could just imagespam every anime episode currently airing or talk about Naruto non-stop and get plenty of hits. Actually, the one month thing should probably be combined with a minimum of 10 proper content posts. It’s not too demanding a entry fee but it should still flush out the not-bothered people

Totally unrelated note, why doesn’t Bokutachi get a funny comment in your blogroll…

Ohhh yeah….you know, you’re right. People could spam for views. And in fact, I got some ping/trackbacks to my site involving some other sites that only have the default theme…like wtf? Anyways, I’ll post about it later.

And oh, I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened with that :( But it’s fixed now!!! You should check it out :D

I disagree, Scamp. People who visit your site hardly read further than 10 posts back, so if you start off your blog strong (with some interesting editorials, etc) you run a incredibly large chance of them never being read. In fact, the month-long stall encourages people to write about stuff nobody cares about until they can get on the feed aggregator, when they can finally write up articles they really want to put effort into.

Getting on Animeblips will definitely help with the traffic. Based on my experiences so far with “directory sites”, the best three in terms of getting hits are Anime Nano, AnimeBlips and then Blog Catalog. I get about twice the referrals from Anime Nano than AnimeBlips. All the other things I’ve joined including Technorati generates next to nothing :(
