To do that, I took 3 years in high school. Unfortunately, the college I goto doesn't have Japanese as a major. Anyways, I knew a bit a couple years ago, but have forgotten quite a bit now. Moving on, I was at barnes & noble sitting reading some Photoshop mags in the cafe and I overhear these 2 fairly young Asian girls speakings what sounds EXACTLY like Japanese. After 20 minutes of listening to make sure it was actually Japanese, I got over and basically say in Japanese, "I'm really sorry, but I heard you (both) speaking Japanese, you mind if I join you just for a bit?" you know what they said...? Check this out: (in English) "ummm sorry, but we don't speak japaneseee..." wow...I felt like a dumbass like hardcore.
