hello and greetings fellow Otaku,

Have you ever been stopped on the street by a total stranger in which they ask for directions? Were you able to understand a word that they were saying, but tried to help them anyway? If you answered yes to any of these questions, well folks have I got a video for you.

In this clip from the anime series Azumanga Daioh, we see Minamo being approached by a tourist in which he tries to ask her for directions or some other thing. However, Minamo not understanding a word the tourist is saying enlists her friend Yukari for assistance. Yukari who claims to understand his language conducts some small talk with the tourist in which results in one of the series funniest moments. Hopefully this video might be able to help you with communicating with foreigners, but here is a quick word of advice. Make sure your best friend is not a p.e. teacher. Enjoy the video everyone and I will talk to you guys again soon.

Omfg I have a reaallllyyy funny story you just reminded me of:

I want to goto japan and learn Japanese fully. To do that, I took 3 years in high school. Unfortunately, the college I goto doesn’t have Japanese as a major. Anyways, I knew a bit a couple years ago, but have forgotten quite a bit now. Moving on, I was at barnes & noble sitting reading some Photoshop mags in the cafe and I overhear these 2 fairly young Asian girls speakings what sounds EXACTLY like Japanese. After 20 minutes of listening to make sure it was actually Japanese, I got over and basically say in Japanese, “I’m really sorry, but I heard you (both) speaking Japanese, you mind if I join you just for a bit?” you know what they said…? Check this out: (in English) “ummm sorry, but we don’t speak japaneseee…” wow…I felt like a dumbass like hardcore. AND it was in front of my parents after they egged me on to talk to them…epic language fail…idk, I think about it from time to time lol.

One time a girl came up to me on the street (she was pretty hot I must say) and asked me some strange language. I assumed that she wanted to have sexual relations with me, so quickly I harrumphed her vividly, and went on my way. (I made this story up).
